|
Thoroughly captivated by the vision of her husband, Dr. A. F. Pinto, to start centers of learning in every nook and corner of India, she too has become a part of that endearing vision. Today, as the director of 72 flourishing and well-established schools spread over 12 states of India, she serves selflessly even as she directs. The St. Xavier's and Ryan International Schools impart education to students coming from a wide stratum of society. To give the best in education, students from her schools can choose from I.C.S.E. and C.B.S.E. to the different State Boards. Keeping the International academic culture in mind, the Group of Schools has also received affiliation from the Cambridge University for the `O' and `A' level examinations. Thus, her students are at par with foreign students when seeking admission in International Universities. Amicable, articulate and aware, Mrs. Pinto is bestowed with fine intellectual qualities coupled with a benevolent, dignified grace befitting her name. Love of humanity, commitment to her conviction, sincerity in her mission, have helped her achieve her goals in the field of education. She has made a definite difference in modernization the education system by setting totally new paradigms and leading to complete globalization of the educational system. Recognizing the demand of the times, Mrs. Pinto ensures that the gap between the traditional and the modern is bridged. Thus the 1.5 lac students at the St. Xavier's and Ryan International Schools benefit from the new teaching method. One of the combined efforts of Dr. A. F. Pinto and Mrs. Pinto is the dream project of 'Education Through Lens' which has worked its way into the Limca Book of Records. This project trains students to script, direct, shoot and produce films. The children are also taught to operate studio equipment and air their own programs. Under her initiative, the students of the Ryan International School created a children's film `CHIKKI' in a record time of 26 days. This film was screened at the Tokyo Film Festival in the year 2000. An ardent supporter of women's empowerment, Mrs. Pinto is associated with many successful projects targeted towards the upliftment of the poor and needy. She also takes a keen interest in promoting and catering to the welfare of senior citizens. The Help Age India honoured Mrs. Pinto for her contribution in this field. She was felicitated by the Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Education for the underprivileged children of the society through Anubhav and Radiant Schools is yet another of her laudable projects. In these schools all items from books to uniforms and midday meals come to the student free of cost. Mrs. Pinto is an environmentalist who believes in spreading eco-awareness and undertakes cleanliness and tree plantation drives. This message is imparted to all the students of her schools, through active participation in Environment Campaigns, Drives and Rallies across the cities. Another unique quality which sets Mrs. Pinto apart from all other educationists is her strong spirituality. She attributes her success to God almighty and instills values in her students. The dreams of the Mrs. Grace Pinto have no limits and her visions know no boundaries. Along with her husband Dr. A. F. Pinto, she plans to extend her educational reach to International frontiers. She aspires to start centers of learning in all the continents of the world. Their new projects include not only schools but also vocational institutions that impart learning and training to students all over the globe.
