 Dr. A. F. Pinto,
a visionary and a pioneer in the field of education, took up the
task of spreading awareness of literacy and providing the necessary
infrastructure needed to realize this dream, from a scratch.
Right from his formative years, Dr.A.F.Pinto had this dream. A dream
that would help him, in the cause of eradicating illiteracy. Since,
Dr.Pinto did not belong to an influential & wealthy background, he
just had his qualifications and his will power to make this dream
into reality. But, that was not the only criteria needed for
Dr.Pinto to achieve his goals. There were many things, which had to
be taken care of, and many technical details to be looked into. But,
that was not a hurdle, which would dampen or reduce Dr.Pinto's
spirit and enthusiasm.
Initially, Dr.Pinto setup a temporary, a make shift school. He only
had himself to teach students, to publicize, to promote and also at
the same time encouraging and spreading the awareness of literacy.
Thus, was started a revolution in the field of education. As the age
old principle goes: 'Hard work=success'. The school started getting
tremendous response as days passed by. The schools started growing,
gradually. Just like saplings and newborn babies, have to be looked
after and tended to with proper care, in the same way, nursing this
school with hard work and perspiration. Dr.Pinto started working
towards the upliftment and the enhancement of the school. This was
the first milestone that Dr.Pinto achieved, in the year 1986.
The definition of Education according to Dr.Pinto; education is the
process of organizing and developing, in a systematic way, the
intellect of the human being, such that he/ she is capable of
assimilating, understanding and deciding the course of action, to
achieve a pre-set goal.
After a span of 4-5 years, the little sapling being nurtured by
Dr.Pinto had wedged its roots firmly into the ground and at the same
time, growing bigger & stronger with each passing day. Just an
extending and spreading its branches, exploring set up 63 branches.
What started as an attempt in contributing to the cause of education
has now snowballed into an institution of mammoth proportions.
With this Dr.Pinto started looking for potential areas, where there
was dearth of good schools. That made him realize the fact that his
cause was being restricted by geographical boundaries. Dr.Pinto now
decide to break all barriers and spread this revolution all over
India. After a brief survey, he realized that the northern region of
India has tremendous potential and was raring to be explored. Also
the fact, that the then existing schools were not being able to
cater to the complete demand of the population.
